The Service Technician will have responsibilities for repair, imaging, configuration, and deployment of physical desktop and laptop devices. This position will be required to maintain physical inventory, escalate issues as they are encountered, and troubleshoot basic hardware issues on laptop and desktop PC’s. This position will report to the Edge Compute Services manager within the Kiewit Technology Group Operations organization.

Location

Omaha, NE in our Kiewit Business Center office location. 12720 I St, Omaha, NE 68137.

Responsibilities

• Follow all documented procedures related to PC imaging and repair.

• Identify and troubleshoot basic hardware issues.

• Testing, cleaning and general preparation of used laptop and desktop PCs.

• Boxing, packaging, loading, and shipping computers and IT accessories.

• Manage, track, and reconcile incoming and outgoing inventory.

• Maintain well organized workbench and inventory area.

• Sort and process new and used incoming equipment.

o Correct placement of items into inventory, including cables, adapters, peripherals, etc.

o Assisting with general daily receiving and inventory duties.

• Entry-level hardware tasks, such as memory expansion, and hard drive removals and/or replacements.

• Periodically monitor PC Depot ticket queue.

• Manage and prioritize multiple related projects, including troubleshooting, operations and maintenance.

• Providing a high-quality customer experience with a positive attitude.

• Collaborate with co-workers and internal IT teams.

• Create technical and procedural standards documentation.

Qualifications

• Interest in working in and learning more about laptop devices.

• Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Highly motivated, self-starting, and self-directed.

• Strong communication skills

• Ability to lift minimum of 25 lbs. on a regular basis.

• Ability to maintain excellent attendance.

• Attention to detail as it relates to software and hardware requests.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be 16 years of age or older at time of internship.

• Reliable transportation.

• Ability to work from assigned Omaha office for the duration of the internship.

• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
