Position Summary

Assist skilled craftsperson(s) by performing supportive duties as directed and will work under immediate supervision. The level and degree of job responsibilities and requirements vary depending on months of experience and assigned job step.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

• Adhere and comply with all company and OSHA safety rules and regulations.

• Be familiar with all safety equipment.

• Responsible for diagnosis of deviations from Vendor/Client procedural standards.

• Responsible for ensuring JOVIX is working as per design and alert Supervision of any deviation in Vendor/Client schedule, preservation, or maintenance procedure of tagged equipment.

• Responsible for leading diagnosis and rectification of faults on equipment packages.

• Responsible for delivering scheduled or planned preservation and maintenance activities.

• Responsible for interfacing with Client Representatives and Contracted Vendors to ensure timely resolution of problems.

• Responsible for supporting, mentoring and cross training junior Preservation and Maintenance personnel.

• Accountable for ensuring equipment is correctly and clearly tagged.

• Responsible for helping to ensuring the equipment and skid is kept clean.

• Responsible for ensuring any leaks are reported, and corrective actions progressed.

• Responsible for ensuring package instrumentation is in good working order and any defects are reported, and corrective actions progressed.

• Responsible for ensuring that any package pipe work, small bore tubing and flexible hose defects are reported, and corrective actions progressed.

• Accountable for ensuring the rotating equipment and package auxiliary systems are maintained and preserved to the Vendor/Client specifications.

• Accountable for the identification and investigation of issues generated by the Client condition of preservation and maintenance performance.

• Responsible for the optimization of the handheld JOVIX data logger and the scheduled collection of data.

• Responsible for assisting Commissioning Technicians as requested. Training will be provided as required.

• Accountable as required, for ensuring that post installation preservation and maintenance activities are carried out and the equipment is left in a satisfactory condition.

• Responsible for ensuring that routine lubrication is logged, and samples are collected and submitted to the appropriate entity as may be required.

• Assist the Materials Engineer ensuring received equipment is properly tagged, inspected and stored in its specified storage type and location.

• Responsible for the management of all Preservation and Maintenance consumable supplies and tools ensuring suitable stock level are stock proposed and maintained.

• Accountable for ensuring that all package defects have clear and concise work orders raised and scheduled in accordance with their criticality.

• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

• Experienced Mechanical/Electrical Technician or equivalent experience and other qualifications preferable.

• Sound understanding of control systems with some instrumentation and electrical experience preferable.

• Previous experience working with rotating equipment and their auxiliary systems.

• Experience with the interpretation of technical operating manuals, drawings, catalogues and reports to assist with identification and proactive management of preservation and maintenance schedules, activities and troubleshooting.

• Knowledge of safety hazards associated with the construction of offshore platforms, high speed industrial rotating equipment or similar industrial hazards.

• Knowledge of industrial rotating equipment.

• Working knowledge of the JOVIX work management system would be an advantage.

• A high school diploma or general education development (GED) diploma and three to five years related experience and/or in related area.

• A valid Texas Driver's License is required.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move a minimum of 50 pounds. Must be willing to work in high areas and in confined spaces or on scaffolding. Must be able to wear a full body harness within safety limits as per OSHA standards. Must have knowledge and ability to use rigging and crane signals. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Employee must work overtime, nights and weekends as required by workload. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; risk of radiation and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
